Manga Review: Bakuman

Honestly, I'm not the type that reads a lot. I tend to easily get bored especially if the material is all nothing but texts and does not have a single picture at all. If I remember it correctly; when I was little, one of my Aunties always brings me home a book to read. Well, what can I say? I'm lazy. After looking at the first few pages I then start throwing it away and move on with TV. I grew up in front of the TV for all you know. But recently, I developed a habit of reading "manga". What are mangas again? Mangas are Japanese comic books.

So as ya'll know, I kinda got a little "addicted" in reading stuffs like these,  manly 'cause it runs my imagination to its wildest. Haha! I've read probably all sorts of manga genre. And of course, I too have certain favorites that I keep reading on and on and probably would suggest to read by other friends.

And it has been a two months since I finished reading Bakuman. I was just waiting for my friend at the mall so we can go to work together. I was really thinking of buying some magazines then so I dropped by at the bookstore. Seeing the price tags, I then came to a firm decision to read online instead, since I'm always in front of the computer and always online, and also (here comes the most important part) it doesn't cost me a single dime. Haha! And yes, I was browsing some comic books and saw a couple of my favorites like Bleach, Naruto, Nodame Cantabile, Soul Eater, Fairy Tail and a whole lot more. And I also saw Bakuman. So I jot it down on my phone so I won't forget it 'cause yes, I can easily forget petty things like these. :P

Bakuman Chapter 1 Manga Cover page, Mashiro Moritaka

Of course, like any other book readers do, I read the synopsis first before continue reading the whole thing. Yes, yes, yes, I'm kinda picky with manga too. Haha! As I read through it, it caught my attention, "Hmm?. This seems good. Might as well try it." I say. And it was well, not the best but it was nice.

Basically the story moves around two Junior High or Middle School students who dreamed of being Mangakas (Comic Artist). The story was a-okay. It has the ups and downs, happiness and sadness, laughter and tears. It's like a drama series in cartoon/anime version of how difficult yet happy life of those manga artist have.
DVD Cover Page. Mashiro Moritaka and Takagi Akito.

It was a really nice experience reading this book. I kinda learned from it too. It made me shed tears, it made me really curious and wanting me read more and more, made me think what's gonna happen next. It also made me laugh like crazy, 'cause some character are really hilarious. And it made me realize that I should value my friends more and more. It also made me believe in the power dreams. Hmmm? Dreams huh? I can't really say that I don't have dreams of my own but I think, I will just wait and see until I get to that point were I can say that "this is what I've dreamed for." I want things to be thrilling. I have my own ways of chasing my "unknown" dreams. *wink

Also there's a saying that I picked up while reading this and it got really stuck in my head. I'll just say it my way, It's really a wild world out there. You really don't know what will happen after every 5 seconds of your life. So you should at least have kick as qualities like Faith: that you believe that you can have it, Arrogance: think that you are better then all the others, Effort: work hard, its not like it's always given and Luck. Another one of my favorite is " Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're going to get." said in the movie Forest Gump. Sigh. It's really nice to be inspired by things that you never thought that would give you these kinds of feelings. :)

Do read Bakuman if you have extra time with you. :)

I know it's kinda mushy but what are your dream?

You have any manga that you want me to review or just read?

Thanks a bunch! :)

Weekend! 11.11 Pepero Day!

Hi guys! It's dreaded Monday again. Haha! I woke up so late today. Really, I am soooo lazy today! Just like my dear friend said "Slow Monday". Sigh. Why is it so hard to move on after a relaxing weekend? Oh yeah! Speaking of weekend, I was dead tired over the weekend! Phew! Saturday was just an ordinary day. Went to the mall to grab a couple of Christmas decorations, in short SHOPPING! Hahaha! 'Cause, it's that time of the year again. We spent the whole day, doing nothing but that. Man, and it's soo damn tiring I tell you.

And Sunday came, it was November 11 or 11.11, Pepero Day in South Korea. Pepero Day is named after the product Pocky. Just so you know, Pocky is a cookie stick dipped in a chocolate syrup . Pepero Day is like Valentine's Day in South Korea. This holiday is kinda important mostly to young people and couples. 'Cause duing  Pepero day, they exchange Pepero sticks, other candies too and/or romantic gifts as  the say.

I can't find any Pocky products in the grocery stores so I just got the Philippine version of it.

And yes, I too participated in celebration of this holiday. I bought a couple and stock them at home 'cause I'm not so much of a chocolate freak. And of course, I shared some too, gave one to my cousin and some to a chocolate freak friend. Haha! 'Cause I kinda got worried 'cause he said that he was feeling down and I as a friend, I wanna do something about it. And yeah, I think he got a lil okay tho. Sigh. I'm still feeling slow today.

Anyway, Happy Slow Monday! :)

Happy Halloween!

It's close to might and something evil's lurking in the dark. Under the moonlight, you see a sight that almost stops, you hear. You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it. Your star to freeze as  horror looks right between the eyes, You're paralyzed. ~

You know what lines came from? Do you feel the thrill moving down your spine? And yes! It's that time of the year again when everybody plays someone else. Haha! Let me travel down memory lane on this one. I use to trick or treat around the block, I get so hyper 'cause of the suuuper hand full  (or pumpkin pots rather) of candies and chocolates. And we also use to attend to those Halloween themed events at the mall. It was so much fun seeing other kids in costumes, yes I always end up as a witch 'cause that's the easiest and less hassle in making and that awkward moment when you see someone that has the same outfit as you do. Haha!

My dearest Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis and rest of Black Butler (黒執事 Kuroshisuji)in the mood for Halloween.

Last week the whole team or the whole company was rather busy doing the designs for this day. And just so you know, this is also the last day of work (YEAH!) 'cause of the holiday break (AWESOME!) So there are times that I am force to work, c'mon guys for all you know I just want to seat all day reading my manga, getting all emotional all alone. (Okay, now that ain't right, I sounded like a freakin psycho.) So yes, I was forced to work. Haha! But the everything was paid off, tho the designs weren't that as realistic as ever but at least we did our very best. So here are some pictures, I hope you'll enjoy looking at as much as I enjoyed taking them.

My nephew, Dannielle and my little sister, Geline getting the zombie vibe.

Whoa! Noel is one of them Zombading.  Run! They'll suck your energy! LOL

Resident school girls.

My manga illustrator and one heck of a chocolate freak, Arvhic
playin Zero Kiyuu from Vampire Night. Sorry for the hair it's a fail, company policies. LOL

Ayen  playin some dark child, Ester.

Vabes, one pretty fairy minus the wings tho.

Alice said she was some ninja but I think this is what she wants to be.  Former  No.3 Arrancar, Tier Harrible from Bleach.

Tine, rockin that look. Wooo!!

Other specs in the office. Halloween wouldn't be complete without Scream.

Yes, I look like a freakin "fan" of Arvhic here. Haha! I feel lame! XD

Halloween is the second best holidays ever (of course, Christmas has to be first best!)  And maybe next year (crossfinger) , I'll try to fit one costume too. Who were you this year's costume feast?

Thanks for always being there. :)

NOTE: Sorry this is such a later entry. I ran out of time working on the picture and I forgot to bring the pictures at home so I couldn't work on them.

NATURO: It's not JUST anime.

Today, when I woke up, and the first thing that came out of my mouth was "I'm bored." I really don't know why I said that in the first place but as time passed by, I realize that yes; I feel bored all the time as if my life has no direction, path, light or whatever you wanna call it. Lately, I've been having this feeling that I'm just a tasteless food that no one dares to touch. Sigh. And I know myself too well, and thinking that it's one of those days that I feel really, really depress with no certain reason at all.

That awkward feeling that you get when you don't want to talk to anybody, and you just want to be alone until you feel better, or that feeling that you wanted put up like 20,000 layers of barrier to isolate yourself from the rest of the world. Yeah, I get that feeling a lot actually. What about you? I hope that you don't have the same disorder (Wow. Did I really said that? Hmm?!) as I do.

Okay so the feeling goes on, took a bath hoping that I would feel a little better but it seems like it has no effect after all. After preparing myself, I fired up my mean machine; first check facebook (OF COURSE, DUH?!) And saw a post there for Uzumaki Naruto. You know what super hit manga/anime nowadays. I such a fan of it, REALLY. :)

Naruto manga, cover page.

The post was about his birthday. It made me smile and a sudden flash back came in. Traveling memory lane all of a sudden and it came to me,  how it inspired me to strive and work hard for those people I treasure the most just like him. As I was looking at some photos in the net, I saw this..

Fouth Hokage Namikaze Minato, Uzumaki Kushina and baby Naruto.

It made me realize, how blessed I was having both my Mom and Dad and a handful of siblings by me all the time. Naruto never met his father and mother until the age of 16 (I think?). His parents died protecting him and their village from the rampaging Nine Tailed Demon Fox.

Honestly, there are times that I get mad at how "stupid" my parents can be at times but it was also a way to let me know  how they love me. Talking the role of both Mom and Dad is no joke, they will sacrifice so much just to give you the world. This manga/anime always reminds me of that.

Minato and Kushina protecting Naruto from the Nine Tailed Demon Fox. Anime and Manga.

And I came back to my senses, I've always thought of myself as a bridge, a bridge that would be strong enough to with stand all the adversities that may come or block the way and a bridge that would help connect my love ones with their dreams. Do I sound mushy? Hehe. *scratch head* Well, what can I do? That's what I feel.

Really, big thanks to Naruto and all his effort I can now have a brighter day. Haha!

And I'm pretty sure if Kushina and Minato were still alive by now, they would be soooo damn proud of what their son, Naruto has achieved. I know, Naruto is just some fictional character but he was made for a purpose, to serve as an entertainment and to be an inspiration to others. Thank you Naruto-Kun. And today, I would just like to greet you a happy HAPPY BIRTHDAY. :)

The "bestest" birthday ever. :)

What gives you inspiration? I wanna know. Thanks! :)

Bleach: The DiamondDust Rebellion

I so love the internet. It's like a way that connects my world to a new and more amazing world that there is (somewhere out there, I guess.) So yes, I did a lot of googling (that's how they call it) of mangas over the last three days that I was not working here.

After reading, I got bored (tho I'm head over heels about them), I have some movies stuck in my PSP (Play Station Portable), actually I'm always on the go so if I want movie, it has to be converted so I can watch it in my PSP; back to my story, I watched this movie entitled "Bleach the Movie 2: The DiamondDust Rebellion". This is the second installment of Bleach Movie, adaption of both anime and manga series. It was releases around 2008, September.

Movie cover page.

Yes, thank to the I.T guy who download it for me, I was able to watch this.

Okay, so the story was lead by 10th Division Captain Hitsugaya Tōshirō (Toshiro Hitsugaya in English) and his Lieutenant Matsumoto Rangiku (Ranjiku Matsumoto in English) to escort the Royal family's artifact known as the Ōin or "King's Seal". But later on was stolen by an unknown masked Soul Reaper and two mysterious Arrancar (Spanish for "To Tear Off", Japanese for "Ripped Mask") resembling girls who control fire and lightning.

Clips from the movie.

And yes again, I leave the rest of the story to you guys. Haha!

The movie was good. Well, yes; the story Bleach itself is really good. It tackles about friendship and it also has memorable and meaningful quotes actually.

And you? What kept you busy these past few days? Lemmi know. Thanks! :)

Memories of Nobody

Ever had that one moment when you are trying hard to remember something but nothing comes around? I too had one of those moments.

Just todayI've finished watching my first (ever) Bleach movie. You know Bleach, that teenage dude named Kurosaki Ichigo who became a Shinigami (Death God/Soul Reaper).

Ichigo in Shinigami form and Kon, the artificial soul that takes over the body when one because a shinigami.

Okay, so much for telling 'cause I know most of you guys know who he is. Okay so, the movie was titled Bleach: Memories of Nobody. It was released in 2006 an animated film adaptation of the anime and manga series Bleach.

Movie cover page.

I got my copy big thanks to the I.T guy who downloaded it for me 'cause I can't download and 'cause my computer is playin stupid again. LOL okay, so the story was about the revenge of the Dark Ones against the Soul Society.

The Dark Ones are a clan of Shinigami that were exiled over 1000 years ago.

Okay I know that you are getting curious about the story but that I leave it for you guys to find out. Haha! But here's some sneak peek for you guys.

If you can find a dubbed copy better but if you found a Japanese audio sub-titles it's okay too. I got kinda disappointment because the voices of the characters were changed. But still it's a nice movie, I tell you. :) It's a must watch if you like Bleach like I do.

You got any movies to share? Please do share. Thank you. :)

Pass Break

As you all know, I am super crazy about cartoons, anime call it whatever you like. And recently too, I got so hooked up reading Japanese comic books called "Manga". And maybe later on Korean "Manhwa" too. LOL

The katakana for "manga".

Both manga and manhwa are collections of comic books of all kinds of genres. Honestly, I never liked reading before though I kinda owe a huge amount of books. As I've mention a while ago, I just starting to read these because I am always bored out of my brains.

And sometime (well, most of the time) I am just glued to my chair, not talking to anybody, laughing alone like crazy; so yeah, one day I really got curious and started reading and it was sooooo addicting (I swear), that how I began reading these stuff. I read any kind of genre, action, drama, romance, horror, fantasy, comedy, name it baby, I read them ALL. Haha! But yes, one of my favorite include yaoi.LOL It's a boy's love in a boy-girl like relationship but they like fell in love with another boy and take note, not all the characters in a yaoi story are gay.

Yaoi, it's like a boy's love. But it's way different from the regular bromance.

And as of now, I've probably read hundreds now, it became a new hobby and it also made me appreciate reading, I kinda learn somethings too.

And yes, it's true that it's not just anime, It's a way of life drama that we have here. And sometimes (what'da you mean sometimes?!) they tend to represent your feelings. OMG. You know what, at times I feel like these stuff really gets into your skin; like one time, I dreamed of being a ninja just like Uzumaki Naruto. Sounds insane right? Hahaha! But it really do happened to me.

And of course you read these stuff you also might want to watch it too right? Some are English dubbed but more of the are in Japanese audio and subbed titled, it's kinda frustrating for me 'cause I need to read and watch at the same time, so I decided that I will study Japanese language. See? Told you, it isn't just anime, it's a way of life too. LOL

Hey so you read manga too? Care to share?

Found a new hobby like me? What is it? Let me know. Big thanks. :)
